    Default Ol' Linesides

Was lucky enough to "bump" into these guys last night, near the mouth of the Elizabeth River. Fished the last of the outgoing tide for about two hours, in 15 - 20 FOW. Water temp was 45*, and air temp was down right cold!

How is going? Did the speckle trout do any good this fall and those look like nice stripers.

That's some mighty fine eating with a pan full of grease and a bag of dry coating!

Hey, Jim. Good to hear from you. I hope you are digging your new tromping grounds. I will probably get down that way sooner or later.

This year there was PLENTY of undersized fish. Could catch them anywhere, but they were mostly small. Most reports told of going through dozens of fish, to get a limit of 15-16 inch fish. Minimum keeper size is 14", and the limit is 5 fish per day, this year. I went back to the bridge in my neighborhood on Friday night, and only caught small specks. The water was 47*. Going to switch back to crappie for the winter, probably hit NW in the next week. Thanks for all your help--your generosity in helping is unmatched. Cool dude...

    Good luck!

Thanks, I agree, Ekim. However, I had a hankering for some fish chowder, so the first half of the fillets went in the pot. I always have to beat my wife to the chowder, before it disappears. The second half of those fillets will end up in the dry coating. But to be truthful, I think I like fried crappie better!
