Anyone know where you can get the stakes used for making beds in the lake? Would like to make a few this winter

A company that makes or rebuilds pallets would have leftover scrap from the build. The one I usued to live near would drop loads of short baords 8"s or less long out in bins by the road. They let people get it to burn in the fireplaces and heaters. Bound to be longer pieces to be used for other purposes

Go to a saw mill and buy a bundle of slabs. It’s the part with the bark. Hard woods last longer.

Whatched a video of someone using sawmill slabs for stakes. Those would provide a lot of cover

Erin, check around and see if you have any cabinet shops around. They usually have a lot of trimmings left they will give you. All you need to do is cut them to length because they are usually just the right size.

I’ll sure do it! I checked with one of the sawmills and he said there is no scrap anymore they chip up all scrap for wood pellets
