    Default Boat leak question....

I have a Skeeter 20I. If you are familiar with this setup, it is a nightmare and very difficult to get to bilge pumps, livewell pumps, hoses, etc. I have not fished since last year. I noticed a small leak, as when we are fishing, the bilge pump comes on after a few hours and drains the water. This happens once or twice on a trip. I just noticed it last year, and I am guessing it’s one of the hoses and/or fitting. What is the best way to find out where the leak is? Thanks.

Let her fill half way before bilging. You’ll have way less motion sickness next day

Process of elimination. Try a trip with zero water in livewell. If no leak, If separate live wells, fill/run one at a time one one trip And one the next. At least this way you have an idea if it’s one thing or the other. Could fill with a hose and leave it on recirc on the trailer and see if the water drains out. Hard to run this stolid down by looking at everything at once.

I had a skeeter that leaked and it was a thru hull fitting on the back of the boat.I put the boat in and raised the cover in the bilge area after it being in the water 25min.You could see a drip off the thru hull fitting,it had a crack in it.

plug your livewell drains before going out next time to test

mine had a breach in the drain hose just under well where hose bends/makes 90 to run aft

A little water in the hull helps on those rough days. Mine leaks; I just make sure to turn on the pump before I’m ready to plane.
