Default T H Marine prop nut

Are any of you running this on your trolling motor ? I do not have live scope but if it helps the ones that do ,it should help all . Several companies make these but I was curious if a wider washer on the shaft would do the same thing . Your thoughts . useful/ 60 dollar gadget . ?

I bought one a few years ago but never installed it. My concern is if you shear a pin in the TM prop, how do you get the machined nut off the shaft? Shaft is going to turn with the nut when pin is sheared.

Why would it be any different than removing the factory nut?
If you sheer a pin enough to break it away from the interior prop housing you are screwed anyway.
Fishing for 50 years and never even broken an ear off trolling motor prop but know some that have.
I think they say the TH Marine prop nose cone is supposed to eliminate vibration but who really knows.

If you shear a pin in say a Terrova, you have to take a straight blade screwdriver to hold the slot in the end of the shaft while you loosen the nyloc nut. I made a special tool for that very reason so I can hold the shaft while backing the nut off. No way to hold the shaft with the TH nut in place.

with the TH Marine version I do not think you have access to the slot you are referring to .

    Yeah,
I’ve looked at them several times since they came out.
Never convinced they did anything to help performance and balance like advertised. They do look pretty though and everybody knows fisherman. Lol

Had one on my xi5. Couldn’t tell a difference. Only caught one fish per trip before, after and since. But it was good ‘un.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
