Default I need a road condition report

I'm currently in Atlanta planning on heading over to Louisiana via I 20. Can anyone give me a report on the condition of I 20. I would like to get there by the weekend and don't plan on taking any chances with ice/snow

Very bad right now through Mississippi. Several sections from Meridian to Jackson are one lane or shut down because of wrecks. Won’t be any better for at least a couple of days. Raining/sleeting like crazy all morning. Temp is 25 and supposed to get down to 10 tonight.

The Sheriff has just closed all roads in Newton county except for emergency services.

Do not attempt to make the trip until at least Wednesday. All roads, including and especially the interstate are extremely hazardous.

I own 2 places in between where you are leaving from and where you are going (Gadsden, AL and Starkville, MS). I'm in Starkville today. No way anybody needs to be on the road in MS today. It's baaaad. AL is still OK for now, but the weather is headed that way. Wait until at least Wednesday.

Thanks for the info. Like I said I'm not taking any risks and if I need to wait until later this week, my granddaughter won't mind if Grampy stays a couple of extra days. I'm sure we can find something to do.

Better keep an eye on weather. We got another storm heading this way right now and supposed to hit tomorrow. It’s also going into the Deep South so don’t expect rd’s to be much better until end of the week at best.
