    I think the answer is "no". I recently bought a boat from an individual in Arkansas. Mississippi told me that no taxes will be charged when I register it in Mississippi. I talked to the folks at MDWFP.

    I never have had to pay sales tax if sale was from /to an individual . Buying from a dealer in or out of state you shall pay taxes according to law. Was trying to make sure it had not changed .

    Yes you do when you get it licensed. I gave my son a pickup truck and had to fill out an affidavit stating it was a gift so he wouldn’t have to pay sales tax. Next time, I think I’ll just write him a receipt for a dollar.

    Was told Mississippi wanted to do that but Mississippi supreme court ruled that once an item had been taxed it should last on that unless a broker or business resold that item .
