It will likely take another 2 years for the bluegill population to rebound. Shame. That was the best bluegill fishery in all of N. MS.

I went there in 2006 and 2007 in early March. Pretty good fishing for bluegills and the cabins at the state park were very reasonable. I think they were 65.00 a night and we got 2 rounds of 18 holes of golf each day, if we wanted to play. It was a nice break after the long, cold winters we had up north.

Once the fishing gets good we'll stop on our way to Louisiana and wet a line. We'll look you up and I'll buy you dinner.

It reconnected with the fishing side of the lake. Some of the fish from that side are just now starting to move over to the main lake. We seen some carp as long as you’re leg by the boat ramp already. The population of Crappie and bream on the fishing side has been strong due to them not letting you fish that side of the lake for the last three years. Which was down to about 120 acres. They’re going to start out with catch and release later this year.
