    Default Boat support

I looked around and didn’t see it. I am needing to redo my trailer and want to restore my 95 tracker pro17. I need a safe way to support the boat under my carport while I rebuild trailer. Boats sit way lower on port side than starboard side while on the trailer. I see the bunks sagging between the two bunk brackets. Last time I did it I just used couple jack stands and floor jack and walked trailer out. It was slow and not very stable. I don’t want to leave it a long time like that. I was thinking about building some saw horses to fit. I have toddler who is into everything so I want it rock solid while it’s off the trailer. I may have to wait til next winter to rebuild boat itself.

I just re did the bunks on my tracker trailer and I just used jacks on front and rear and lifted the boat up off the trailer and replaced each bunk with the trailer still under the boat. I did use cypress this time so hopefully i wont be redoing it anytime soon.

I may have more than rotten bunks.

Build you a couple of saw horses out of 4x4 and a2x6 across top. Wide enough to support bottom at rear and one towards the front. Just tall enough to get trailer out. Jack it up and start walking trailer out then slide the one under rear then just work forward. While working on trailer I’d replace both springs. Pretty cheap insurance and a lot easier to do with trailer out from under boat.

    That’s my plan.

Too bad someone doesn't have an old trailer you can put it on for a few days to redo your trailer. Or get bunks all done and go to ramp and float it off and put new boards on at ramp and load it back up.
    It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
