Iv put Mineral oil on my plastics for years. One good coating will preserve them indefinably.

I'm the odd man out here as usual. I've never seen the need for additives to preserve plastics. I keep them in the original packaging zip locked and in plastic tackle trays in the tackle bag. I've had some for a couple years that are still fine. Hot ones get used an replaced frequently. Not trying to preserve mine to be in the Smithsonian a hundred years from now, I'm putting them on a hook and fishing em'
.... the described methods in this thread definitely couldn't hurt matters any though. Some folks got way to many plastics and others don't get to fish enough or both! It's an addiction for sure, I have to control myself on not buying or collecting anything fishing related now days.
