    My tip would be to mount everything to the deck rather than on the gunnels. The carpet will better hide the holes when everything is removed and I don’t like seeing holes drilled through gel coat. With electronics and rod holders mounted to the deck you don’t have to worry about backer plates as the deck is meant to take the stress. Also use through bolts and nuts with fender washers on the under side when possible.

    Anyone know anything about trolling motor mounts.Thinking about getting aone of those brackets where you can remove it,not sure which one to get

    I’ve got one on my boat made by CB Marine. All aluminum and powder coated any color you want. Super solid compared to the removable mount that MK or MG makes.
