You can get the cypress from the Amish community in Pontotoc. They have a sawmill very close to the Randolf community and saw cypress logs everyday.
I've purchase cypress lumber from them several times at a very reasonable price.

[QUOTE=Cray;3853417]Lowe’s and Home Depot both keep a pretty good stock. Guy just brought out some 1 by 2 trim board and 1 by 8 board to do some trim work on house this morning from Lowe’s. I know they have 2+4 but not sure on 2+6[/QUOTE
We put PVC trim on my sons house and they are really flimsy. We had to carry them on the edge to keep them from sagging bad. I don't think they would be stiff enough, unless there is something else out there.

I use pressure treated then paint them with heavy duty gloss black outdoor paint instead of using carpet. Looks real sharp too. Carpet causes them to rot too quick. Then I put the black plastic bunk slides on them so the aluminum never touches the wood. Last forever.

These are a little pricey and really slick for unloading but I don’t think you have to replace ever. I had them on my previous boat for around 3 years. I’m undecided if I would put them on my new boat when the bunks need replacing. I noticed a little more bow in the bunks in between the brackets.
