Default Marking depth on Trolling Poles

What is everyone using to mark there trolling poles to help set depth. I have tried tape but seems to come loose easily. Any suggestion?

Use pin stripping. You can get it from auto parts store.

1/4”. I use the reflective color pinstripe. You can see it easily. You can also put 2 stripes next to each other. If you want something wider, you can use masking tape and paint.

I use pinstripe tape then put a coat or two of clear vinyl lure and jig finish over the top of the tape.Works just fine.

I've had painters tape on my rods for over a year now. I made sure the seam was at the top of the rod so the line didn't catch.

A little hint. If you decide to use red enamel model car paint like I did, don’t do it on the kitchen table next to the sweater your wife has been crocheting for several weeks.
