Default QUESTION AND A LITTLE HELP PLEASE!!!!

I have a 1989 Ranger 390V, the wife told me to go ahead and get a new boat. After looking at the prices of all of the new glass boats it is ridiculous, I even look at some of the aluminum boats, but I love my glass boat. Just from me having it since 2004 and knowing the boat inside and out. I was wondering if there was any good shops around that was reasonable for I guess restoring the boat. Probably new paint some cosmetics and things, the motor runs great it is just the boat itself. I noticed that I have a couple of soft spots in the floor, some other things. It is like some things you do not notice until someone else goes fishing with you and began to point things out. SO JUST ASKING WHAT WOULD SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE.

Can’t help with where to take it but sure think your making the right decision. Fished out of 88 for a couple of years back then. Wish I had it now. I know just my opinion but that 390 was best fishing boat ranger ever built. And you can’t touch the repair cost verses a newer boat. Good luck in finding a good place to refurb.
If all else fails you might check with ranger. Also I remember a few years ago, there was a guy up in Midway that worked for bass cat. He did refurbs on the side. Saw pictures on Bass Boat central of some he did. Fantastic work. You might call them and inquire. I know you have fla in your addresse but didn’t you move up here? If you did you might look up Bass boat Annie in Southaven or horn lake ms. They are supposed to do some quality work.

Yes I moved up here about 4 years ago, with the job. We just got picked up to move to Atlanta. My wife and I both work for Department Of Justice. I stop posting a lot on here because of some stuff happened in Fl on the website. I have met some good people at the Rez, Okatibbee, Washington and Eagle.

Good model boat you have already. The refurbish can be as extensive as you wish but probably want touch the cost of a new rig. New 4-stroke motor would be nice as well as trolling motor upgrade. Fiberglass repairs are relatively cheap, new carpet and upholstery can get pricey, and electronics can be outrageous but if you are not in a hurry you can get great deals on slightly used electronics. If i really liked the boat I would take on a project every 6 months or so until I got it back where I wanted

I thought I remembered when you moved up. Took my old brain a bit to recall. Hard drive not as fast as it used to be. Hope this a move your both excited about. Think if going to be soon I might investigate in the Atlanta are for a place that does refurbs or put your post on the Ga board. And don’t let stuff that happened in the past keep you from posting.

I am thinking about doing a little at a time, was trying to see if anyone knew of any good fiberglass shops already have good electronics, I pilot, motor runs like a champ. Some fiberglass work on the inside was thinking about getting it wrapped or new gelcoat. My overflow from the live well to the back of the boat was damaged the other week, so I have to cut both of them out of the live well and replace the pipes. It broke all the way up to where I cannot replace it.
