After I retired we moved to SD, lived on the reservation where some of the film was shot, and some of my patients were in the movie. My wife and I were actually surrounded once by the herd of buffalo from the film. They broke out of their fence, crossed the road and stopped. The owner came in a truck and drove them back. When you see a herd like that crash through a fence you realize that not much gets in their way! Living with the Lakota was quite an experience.
