I love my old AA. But I bought a new gold one and I'm not as happy with it. I'm actually looking at buying a regular knife. I only use electric for crappie and a rapala for all other fish. I'm probably going to get a heavier knife so I can cut through the bones just like a electric knife. I would go with the blue cheapest AA. Just my opinion.

If you are looking for a knife that will clean reds and heads check out the Hoss filet knife. It is a small saws all motor with filet knife blades. Friend of mine in Cocodrie has one. To powerful for crappie but makes quick work out of big boney fish like redfish and snappers

I was the same when I first replaced my old AA with the newer model. Grew on me over time though, and I prefer it to the old one now (bought an old style “classic” model for backup).
Problem is with the new shark blades. They don’t fit together tight, meat gums them up. When they’re new, they are sharp but want to grab rather than cut. I’ve found they get better as they dull.
