    Default New to me sonar

Bit the bullet and got a new unit today for the front of my boat. Helix 7 G2N. Has Chirp, SI, GPS. Planning to upgrade to I-Pilot in the future and wanted something I can link. Name: IMG_1474.jpg

Size: 155.2 KBGonna call HB in the morning to swap out the transducer for a shielded trolling motor puck. This unit came with a so called $200.00 bonus Navionics + mapping card. Will this card be sufficient or do I need to buy another?

I have this same unit. It did not come with a map card and I bought a Southern Region Navionics. Works great at my location.

A word of warning ....if you buy another chip be sure it’s a MICRO sd card.

Yes, You are correct. I already saw that it requires the micro card.

I know some guys change electronics like underwear, but I do not. I'm sure this is gonna be a learning experience. Gonna eventually do the I-Pilot thing but will still need my old cable steer for fishing some particularly nasty rough places on the TenTom.

Thats a good card but for big 4 lakemaster is better. And if your looking to link it to a trolling motor you will need to be looking at the ipilot link set up. Also for where you fish I’d bite the bullet and get the new ultrex trolling motor with foot pedal and ipilot. That way you could sell old motor and offset some of the cost. Snubbys is running one and its pretty slick.

Don’t know if you have used this or not but download “humminbirdPC.exe” from the Humminbird website. It will let you add/maintenance waypoints and let you see them on Google Earth which is really cool.

Ps, I’m pretty sure Okatibbee lake is not on your chip. You might want to check that.

I agree with Cray...I've run the navionics and the lakemaster, much prefer the lakemaster.
