Fish attractors out of pvc
My fishing buddies and I are going to build several attractors to put out. I’ve seen a lot of people use pvc pipe and we are thinking of doing the same. I’m wondering if algae will grow on it and if so how soon it will start growing in a fairly deep lake that is fairly clear most of the time. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of doing this ?
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

D 10 on the Arkansas chapter has done a couple of years study on plastic versus wood attractors but he hasn't published anything yet.

As an fish attractor experimenter, PVC has had the worst results of all the materials and methods I have used.
Bamboo has worked the fastest but lasted least amount of time.
In consideration, my lake still has lots of submerged timber for pvc to compete with.
In a lake with absolutely no cover PVC may excel but i'm not sure.

All I can say is you better mark it with GPS extremely well and fish it with faith that you're actually on it because most of the PVC structure I've sunk in the past is nearly impossible to find with downscan or side imaging. I usually know that I'm on it because I can see fish on my graph. Apart from that I'm just guessing.
