You can also get those off of 14 inch fish and up from the rib cage. Will filet right off and be a little bigger than a silver dollar.

Heard back from Keith Meals. Said they hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary in their electronic surveys. Guess it was
me making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Yep, we filet that "rib meat" from all our 12" and larger fish...best tasting part of the crappie.
