Dove season question

I just read this quote in the Clarion Ledger.

"During the hunting season in Mississippi for mourning and white-winged dove, a hunter is allowed to kill 15 during each of the three hunting periods or a total of 45 during the entire hunting period, which ends Jan. 31."

Now, I never understood the limit to be for an entire "season." I thought there was a "daily bag limit" of 15 birds. Now it is possible that this has changed since I was a young man and hunted birds hard, but I certainly remember taking the limit multiple days in the 80's and 90's, and often had game wardens hunting with us.

Educate me.........

Not sure I would believe that article, probably some computer jockey who wrote it and never fired a gun. It's 45 in aggregate, that was just added this year, don't remember seeing that last year. Far as I know you can harvest 15 birds per day during the three season.

Possession limit 45. I think this means all you can have in freezer etc. at any time. Now if you have done and eat them:rolleyes: go get some more.

That is 15 per day now . It used to be only opening day you could bag 15 and 12 I think the rest of the time . If this is not correct please shoot me a p.m.

I don't think 45 possession limit has anything to do with your freezer at home. If you go on a three day hunt and limit out
all three days, 45 is all you can transport to your home. Unless a hunting buddy limited also and gave you his doves. You
can possess his limit also as long as the packaged birds have his name, number and type of game, license #, address, and
phone number written on his packages.
