    Default Enid lake

Just got a call from a friend of mine and was asking me why there was dead fish all along the bank at Enid. Only thing I could think of is the lake may be turning over. Anyone got any insight on this? She was there camping this weekend.

Haven't been to Enid this year, but from what I understand you see that every summer there to an extent. My guess would be a turnover, others may try to chime in and say it's dead loss from crank baits. In my experience I have just as many fish that swallow a jig, minner or a combo of the two. Seen it on Sardis last year when the lake turned over, most the dead fish (all different species) were found out East in the shallower part of the lake.

Don't think it would be from crank bait use . Way to many around sign 2 . Was going to take a picture but caught a fish and forgot . Seen it every year on boat patrol .

She didn't say what kind of fish they were or even if they were all the same. I just figured turn over. And I wouldn't think crank would do that much damage. I throw back more off of trot lines than I ever do fishing for crappie. Floating trot lines produces more crappie for me than I can catch by any method most of the time

On this weeks Mississippi fishing report they acknowledged that there had been a fish kill at Enid. They said the only species
effected was fresh water drum. They didn't elaborate beyond that.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I saw lots of dead Shad floating at Sardis yesterday around the parking lot and marina. Didn’t fish so I didn’t get a closeup look at them. Saw dead shad on the parking lot tho.
