Default Deer Hunting in Northern/Central MS Question

My daughter decided this past year that she wanted to see how many different states she could shoot a deer in before finishing high school. I said "Ok, sounds good to me". We are trying to check off the closest states first and have gotten AL, TN and KY out of the way. The plans for this year are to try and get MS and GA checked off (tried to get MS last season but we were unsuccessful). I wanted to see if maybe there was some decent public land that someone could steer us towards where she may have a chance at a deer in Northern or Central MS? Or possibly a not so expensive outfitter as she is not looking to kill a monster buck (but would not pass on up...). We have to work around her school schedule and my work schedule so we typically do not have several days in a row that we can spend. Thanks is advance for any help.

There is some good hunting around Grenada! There is alot of public land and some good hunting. The best public land I have hunted around here is Camp McCain army base. You have to go to the headquarters and get a permit and they can fill you in on all the rules. There is some really good hunting on that place and some really good deer come off of it. Also have alot of WMA and NWR public land that has some good hunting. But Camp McCain would be my first preferance.

Know of a couple good places around my neck of the woods. One is has very limited pressure, other has some of largest bucks in state taken. Shoot me a pm, willing to share with a fellow crappie hunter.
