    There ain't enough ativerts in the drug store for me to ride in that boat. That captain could drive a boat through a hurricane.

    He is crossing the bar trying to get home. It's amazing in these areas how the ocean and the river can be calm but a hard outgoing ride over the sandbar meets a strong wind in the opposite direction and all heck breaks loose. Most captains just wait offshore until the situation improves but running the bar is a symbol of skill and courage for these fisherman.
