I had a Terrova for the last 2-3 years never used the foot pedal.
Can use the remote and single Pole, even here in windy Oklahoma.
If I was you I would go with the Ultrex, it is really what you need.

I've looked at the Ultrex and unfortunately after my purchase of the Helix 10 it will put me over budget by a few hundred, still have to buy batteries also. I think I'm set on a MK Terrova 80# Ipilot / US2 with foot pedal. no Link. My only issue now is I'm juggling shaft length.

And now I've decided on the 60" shaft, thanks to good advice. Now wondering about the Ultrex and if I need to just pony up

If you can find gen 1 tm and unit you could be well under 3k even with an extra battery.
I was told earlier that the US2 ducer will only show me depth and temperature and I would not be able to see my sonar readings, is this true?
