Default Spring Camp:Barnet Bash - Headcount, info, and list of needs.

Now that we have all had several days to check schedules and such, it's time to start planning the particulars. Please respond here with a headcount for yourself and guests as you make your decisions. We will be using the Goshen Springs Landing as the main ramp for the morning ramp meets and bait is available onsite. The main lake has four other ramps which will handle any size boat if you wish to launch elsewhere. The river has several concrete and dirt ramps, and Pelahatchie Bay offers several ramps as well. I will gladly help with directions.

The Friday night event will be held at a local restaurant starting at 6:30 pm (Jackson Yacht Club right now but location and time subject to change) with each attendee responsible for their own meal. This will be a great time to talk about the lake and get an idea on how to safely navigate as well as recent patterns and such. Typically this time of year is in the heat of the spawn but we will see what this weather holds. If you are coming in an RV, the Goshen And Timberlake campgrounds are first come first serve. I will be glad to have them hold a spot if you get in touch with me when you're gearing up to leave.

I will be onsite at the Goshen Springs Landing 30min before to 30min after sunrise.

Next order of business is the Saturday Potluck-Fish Fry. This event with be held at the pavilion at Browns Landing. At 4pm. I will start setting up at 2:30-3 and will be glad to have some help. This site is roughly 1.5-2 miles from the Goshen Springs Landing and Campground. I can provide specific directions from your hotel or Campground if you need them.

I have been running into some walls when it comes to door prize donations. If anyone who works in or around the fishing industries can or knows someone who would be willing to donate some prizes, please give me a shout. I will solicit some local businesses when I am home in a few days. Right now, Donnie has said he will tie up a few prizes but that's it. If not, then we can have a tackle swap. Everyone pick a few of your own confidence lures from the store and we will draw them out in the same way. Spread the luck out between the group! I also encourage anyone who has tackle they are wanting to sell and/or trade to bring em down. Also a great time to swap some gear around.

Following is a list of items for the dinner. Please either pm me or include it when you respond with your headcount if you can bring any of the items needed. I know we have some fine backwoods chefs among us and as this will be a potluck too, please feel free to cook and bring any item for the meal! If everyone brings something then no one will go hungry! EZ Poleholder and ScottV have graciously offered to bring their equipment and help fry fish, we will probably need a few more volunteers to help fry fish as well. The more the merrier here. I hear BigBlue has the CDC cooker, does anyone have his contact info? I know the fry cooks don't get to mingle as much so if we can take turns here then we all get to party. I will continue to update this list as we people offer.

Lastly, this should go without saying. We will not tolerate any littering or complaining, especially from anyone who hasn't offered to help. The main events are family oriented and I plan on having my wife and kids present so let's keep the environment inclusive for the young'ns. Let's play by the rules when it comes to fishing, all the laws are posted on the Mdwfp website and I will be glad to help field any questions. The creel limit is 30 per person with no size limit. Anglers are restricted to 5 poles per person.

I will post the final info with exact times for each event in about two weeks, one month before the event, once I have had time at home to lock down all the particulars with each venue.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone!

To don't see a need to locate, procure, and transport the C.C cooker. Scott and I plan to use our personal cookers, which I feel will be plenty enough. I cooked at Browns Landing for this event a few years ago and I felt it was more than adaquit.

Thanks EZ. I think you are right. I'm going to have mine and Canebreaker said he is going to his his available too. I think that this is plenty without having to round up the big one. Thanks again!

The list is updated, thanks G! Right now it's looking like 21 committed (plus a few wives and guests I'm sure) and 16 maybes, still needing time to commit. It ought to be a good time!

As the time nears I will need to get a separate headcount for the Friday night social so I can't let the venue know ahead of time.
