I installed a in line water separator that came with my Tohatsu this past weekend and I was wondering how often does this filter need to be changed out and about how much do they usually cost?If I don't quit working so much it may last forever!LOL!I also used thread tape on the fittings before tightening them down. Was this a good or bad idea?Any info would be appreciated!

Once a yr at most,but...need to dump it 3 to 4 times a yr. If you do get water in it it will rust the metal and cause more problems. Not a bad idea on tape but not necessary. Rubber o-ring there already

Tape not needed, but make sure you prime it. Once every 2 years on my Yamaha. I think last one I bought was around 30 bucks.
