SWhat all species does Pickwick have? I know Crappie, bream, Stripers, largemouth and Smallmouth bass. What about walleye or Sauger? I've heard a few on here say how good a eaten those are

We catch a few sauger above the dam each year and they are great to eat and yes it is full of smallmouth and this weekend they were really biting according to a couple of my friends that fish for them.

Don, I used to fish the river below Pickwick quite a bit and it has everything the lake has in a compact version.Sauger do their spawn in winter but are caught other times of the year. They are a delicious fish for sure! The bite above and below the dam depends on how much water is going thru the turbine house!Without a current the fishing slows considerably. Here are a few of the river baits I use at Pickwick:Name: Pickwick Baits 001.jpg

Has a fair number of yellow perch also. I've even heard of a northern pike caught and confirmed by the ms game and fish in bear creek.
