Pnumatic nailer??

I think I need a pnumatic nailer but there are so many different kinds that I'm confused as to what I need. It will be used around the house and 2 uses that I can think of right now is working on my deck and replacing the siding (wood) on my shed. Anyone know what type/size I need?

Depends on whether you want a finish head, clipped head, or full head. For siding, you should use a nail with a head on it. Clipped, or Round, does not matter. For the deck, I would only use screws, no nails ever. Sounds as if you are looking for a framing nailer, most of which will accept smaller nails. If you ever want a nailer for finish work, consider an angled finish gun. You're right, so many to choose from, and they all depend on what your specific need is.

I prefer the Hitachi over the other 15ga and the Porter Cable 23ga over the Senco.

Go to harbor freight. You can get a 16 gauge finish nailer for less than $30 if you catch it on sale. And there's is just as good as the $200 one I have.
Then they also have a framing nailer. That is what most will use on a deck. And theres is most times 1/3 of the price of the better ones. I have Pasload, Senco Bostich, Porter cable,And the cheap ones below for me have done just as good.

I also have this 18 gauge one also. And its been a good one. nail is not as thick as the 16 gauge

Pasloads are nice till you find yourself running to get more cartridges to run it. That hose is a pain to trip over all day but it dont cost much to run it.

If you need something on rare occasions, the cheapo types like Harbor freight handles should suffice. They do have a tendancy for certain parts to expire prematurely. I know from experience. Grizzly has some decent guns. Chinese knockoffs of the more popular brands that are priced reasonably. Grizzly.com -- Search Results

I have the Paslode finish nailer and framing nailer and I love them because they are so easy to haul around without any hose attached. Have had them for years and they are tough. not as rapid fire as air guns though.

bill;;;; buy you a bostich framing nailer, shoots 6 to 12 penny nails, it also shoots various brands of nails

Hey Ibnfishing all the above nailers are ok but the paslode they talking about that you use the battery and gas for I wouldnt never spend the money get a Paslode Framing nailer you use air with Cheap and very rugged Ive seen mine fall 40 feet from roof peaks and crash to the ground and they throw a rope down and go to useing it again lol I got 4 of them two broke bostich and they both broke and i aint gonna have them fixed no more the paslode cordless is a good gun but It get exspencive to operated on a dailey basis. The Senco is the Cadillac of them all but too heavy for me. Oh well coming from someone that used them everyday for years I think for the money spent Paslode Framing Bostich for trim is what we used till I had to stop because of Health reasons. And I said this just as my opinion lol.
