How long did she have to take it before she notice an improvement?

By all means have your doctor prescribe Prednisone (or any other steroid class of medications), rather than just take it because it worked for someone else. Everyone tolerates/reacts to medications differently, and the side effects can sometimes be worse than the condition being treated.

No, I'm not a doctor, nor did I play one on TV, and I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn. I was a Registered Pharmacy Technician for ~45yrs, & worked closely with Pharmacists, Doctors/Nurses, and other healthcare personnel. One of my jobs was to spot possible interactions between meds that patients were already taking & new ones being prescribed. Luckily, I had a computer system which red flagged such possible interactions, which were quickly noted to the Pharmacist on duty & then that info was relayed to the prescribing physician.

My wife and I both have to take a lot of meds daily and possible interactions has always been a concern of mine. I knew someone had to be monitoring it but wasn't sure how. So thanks for clearing that up for me Pappy.

It's more likely to happen in Tenn, than up here in KY .... but, if it ever does happen here, I'll be a customer. Not so much to take the edge off being "miserable", but since the pot of today is so much stronger than what we had in the 70's ... I'll be using it to put myself to sleep earlier than normal, so I can get up earlier and get to the lake earlier. Having worked night shift for nearly 40yrs, my sleep schedule still leans towards being awake in the wee hours of the morning and sleeping during the early part of the day. That's not so bad when/if I were fishing at night ... but my fishing buds are early morning risers and struggle to stay up till the wee hours.
