    Default the Snake dance

for those of you that have never encountered mating diamond back rattle snakes
here are a few images ,,,,they stand up about 1/3 to close to 1/2 of their bodies and go into a head bobbing and weaving up on each other type of thing .
if interrupted they run off like rabbits in opposite directions
there were on one of the family ranches in the heart of Texas
my son in law and his grandpa ran up on them by one of the rattler dens a few weeks ago up on a hill top with a big cave in it .
in the end one ran the wrong way ....

they really are timid creatures and want to avoid humans if possible
most I encounter are flying away as fast as they can away from me
but as you can see in the last image , many folks remove their heads and this in turn trains them to run
ones that run get to go and reproduce , ones that dont ,not so much .....

I done a snake dance one time while in a feed barn. A snake slide across the top of my boot and I danced all the way out of the door.
I have never been a good dancer but I was cutting a rug that day.

Rate sight. I have only seen pictures.

The largest rattlers in all of Florida live in the beach dunes near Jacksonville. They eat dune mice and live in Gopher Tortoise burrows. Ten footers. No 0ne ever camps out in those dunes. Odd huh ?
Maybe they will bite this one……
