When the best of intentions goes south
To set the stage, this is before my wife had become my wife. We had dated for three years and then combined household. I worked second shift at the time. She was a little would get a little scared before I got home or early in the morning. So I installed security cameras to cover the front and back doors. It was going to be difficult getting the needed wiring for the camera power to the outside of the front door. I decided to put a Ring doorbell camera there. So with the greatest of intentions I told her I was going to get her a Ring. So I ordered the doorbell and when the box arrived I handed it to her. She opens the box and when she looks up there were tears in her eyes. For a second I was confused why a doorbell that would alert her that someone was outside would make her cry. She sure didn't have doorbell on her mind when that box came to the house. I hurriedly mounted that doorbell and showed her all the great and wonderful features. Fast forward a couple of months and out of the blue she says I want a ring. To which I asked for the backdoor( only because I like to live dangerously 😅. She let me know exactly what kind of ring. My coworkers have had the most laughs out of this story. I have found the humor in it also. Mainly because I have lived long enough to know the best of intentions can take a left turn into a brick wall when you least expect it
