Default The Irony of Good Public Relations

Just a quick post from this past weekends adventures that I thought was amusing. We moved our son to Greensboro NC for his first career type job and into his first apartment so needless to say last Friday-Saturday-Sunday was exciting, nerve wracking and bittersweet rolled into just a few days. The journey, unloading, and settling in went as smoothly as expected with me making a couple trips to fetch forgotten or needed items once the boxes were unpacked. On my second trip to the extremely crowded but closest Walmart my wife calls and said we forgot a toilet plunger….because after all….It Happens. Well not wanting to go back to that zoo I stopped at a local grocery store and ran in for the all important necessity. Scored a Carolina Blue and White Mr. Clean clog getter and hit the express line with only that. I initiated the conversation and made the obvious proverbial joke and the clerk just snickered at my attempt at humor. Surprised that he laughed, I grinned,( but with a mask on he didn’t see my delight) and he then said “I just think it’s kind of Ironic you buying a Plunger while wearing a Crappie dot Com Hat”! Well now I always try to represent this great site when ever I can, especially traveling with the hopes of meeting other fellow members but the implications of buying a toilet plunger with my favorite hat on did not even cross my mind.

Greensboro isn't to far from me. I don't go there often though, I hate traffic and crowds. Pretty funny story.

    That was funny. Thanks.

Had that hat not had a fish on it……hmmmmmm the clerk would have really snickered.

I like it when the clerk asks- Sir did you find everything you were looking for. I reply No, and then wait for them to ask their second question. Well sir what were you looking for. To which I reply my fifth wife.

I did that one day and an old woman behind me scoffed. I whirled round and said women are fickle. That shut her up.

I wonder which manager decided to force this upon the clerks. I mean once I have transferred from cart to conveyor, do they really want the clerk to send me off on a search of aisle 7 ?
Maybe they will bite this one……

HAhaha...another response could have been "I'm still awaiting a Court date in reference to her demise! She TOO was always questioning me!

I live in Fayetteville for 20+ years. The Tarheel State is awesome. He isn’t far from some great places to fish. You’ll have to bring you fishing gear and a boat if ya have one and catch some of those Carolina Slabs.

PS.....they aren’t Tarheel blue though. Lol
