Default Who doesn't need an electric meter lamp

As my dad would say I needed it like a hog needed a side saddle. Yet I wanted it and the darn thing came home with me. I had one in my early 20's that got away from me. What Electrician doesn't need to know how many kilowatts that lightbulb is using. Plus with these new smart meters this is a bygone piece of history. Name: 20210915_170917.jpg

Excellent find! Especially being a Westinghouse meter. I have all sorts of things around my house like that. Enjoyed your post - thanks for sharing.

    That’s cool!
I just bought some cool vacuum tubes from days gone by.
    Thought I’d educate the grandkids.

Watched the little wheel inside of them turning slowly until the wife would turn on the clothes dryer then it would sure enough start turning. Now days they don't have a meter reader meters send reading on there own. They are obsolete just like the land line telephone.
Be safe and good luck fishing

They certainly are getting harder and hatder to find. If nothing else it makes a good conversation piece.

Sure is..I live rural and they read it from the road somehow. I don’t know how accurate that can be or however they read it.

Me as well, the way they do it out here in the country. To those that say the land line telephone is obsolete - wrong, many of us still have it. Yes, I use my cell phone nearly all the time, but want the assurance of a hard wired line coming in. Just because. Not going to rely solely on the air wave signal.

Here hanging on the pole is a reader that collects data from meter. They know when the meter has power and when it doesn't. Works out good for me. I was tired of the meter reader running over my brick sidewalk and cracking it for me to repair.

When I retired in 2016 I tossed the cell phone and life life w/o just fine. We have a land line that is for comma and for our ADT alarm system.
