    I caught one once in a local lake on a dough ball fishing for carp. Was a type of pacu

    Sheepshead….one of the hardest fighting fish there is…..and prized for their flesh……great eating.

    first few i ever caught when i was young living on the coast my daddy said they were trash fish
    when i found some big ones in florida in the mangrove estuary as a young man i threw them back
    the man that rented the john boat to me asked if i ketched anything and i said yep some of this and some of that and a herd of sheepshead
    AND he said and you threw them BACK ?
    i rented the boat again the next day and kept a herd of them .....mmmmm
    they are just wonderful table fair to say the least
    and can bite off a light wire hook as i found out quite easily
    sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales

    They are still an ugly fish and I will not land them by the jaw like a bass.
