Sounds painful
HOLYCOW! BOY, this shot in the thumb joint near wrist is the worst place I have had cortisone injected. Dr said it would be sore a few days. Now I believe him.
I can't go fishing, but I can complain.
Sounds painful
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I had a case of "Trigger Finger" on my middle finger on my right hand. Doctor gave a shot right in the middle of the back of my hand. The pain was intense. The cure took about three days so I could straighten my finger.

My wife was getting those in both hands and they made her cry. She as had both thumb bones removed from the base of both thumbs (one was replaced with a tendon from her forearm and the last surgery they didn’t it a little differently). The surgery takes in excess of a year to fully recover from so she is still recovering. The Arthritis had completely destroyed both bones.
I get shots hits in my wrists for Arthritis and they go in the back of the hand in between the 5 Wrist bones. The doc uses cold spray and a fluoroscopy machine for placement. If it wasn’t for the cold spray and LOTS OF IT they would be extremely painful. This fall they are removing the bones in my right wrist and fusing my wrist as I can’t bear any weight with my hand. This will be the third surgery on this wrist to combat the Arthritis. Growing older can be painful for sure.
I just leave it in God’s hands and trust that he will see me through my Arthritic issues so I can keep doing the things I love and get to hold great grandchildren one day.

I used to get those in both both thumbs. They only lasted 2 months for me. I felt like the shots were affecting my wrists and when Covid hit and I couldn't get in to get them I quit. At night I use Lidocaine or Voltoran or icing for some relief. Certain chores are really difficult. Fencing, wrenching and the like. The other day it took me 15 minutes to tie a blood knot.
