And I remember the warning ..... don't flinch or pull away, because the air gun can slice you open .... yet, there were many that did "shy away from the gun"

Also heard some scuttlebutt that there were "some" of the guys wielding the guns that would purposely not hold the gun tight to the arm or move the gun ever so slightly sideways on some of the "less compliant" troops ... but, figured that was just the Army's way of getting people to "man up" and comply with directions.
