Flu shots for seniors

Got me flu shot the other day. Had to settle for the "commoner" shot. There is a big shortage of the senior super shot this year. The provider will not tell you this info. I had to ask. The "shooter' said it could months before another batch is available. I was told this after the shot was given.

Regular dose is just as effective as the High Dose, even for those 65 and over.
Marketing has convinced everyone, including many doctors, into thinking you have to get the high dose of you are over 65.
Untrue. Get the “commoner” shot and rest assured you are adequately protected.

I just got them the other day including the super shot. Docs office didn't have it so he told me to go to local Rite Aid and they had everything I needed.

I got all the shots mentioned. The VA sends me to Wallgreens for the senior shot.

never get the flu shot as it mutates every year and the chance last years shot will be effective against this years virus is small. used to be medical recruiter and docs said just wasn't effective enough and much more likely to get at least a mild dose of flu. Now pneumonia shot especially the new 2 stage IS very effective as is the Shingles vaccine and have had those. Just my two cents and I never get the flu.

Gt my flu shot the other day as well as the shingles vaccine. Get the shingles booster shot no 2 in Dec. couldn’t get the pneumonia shot since I am only 55 and don’t have a condition that makes me more prone.

At one time we vets had no choice about shots. I remember the shot line very vividly. Air guns on both sides.

Those were the good days, eh? Only complaint about VA for me is their vaccinations aren't entered into the Michigan database and my health care system doesn't update my info properly. Get your flu shot, be prepared.
