    Default Weed torch

Anybody use weed torches to keep the garden weeded? RoundUp too expensive for me to use. Just ordered a 100,000 btu model. We will see if it's worth it. I'm too old to hoe my 100 x 70 garden now.

I've got the Harbor Freight version of the torch. I use it for starting brush pile fires. It is HOT. It can be a tad touchy with the adjustment though. If you don't keep the dial adjusted right, it will blow itself out.

I too have a harbor freight one I use. The garden is why I bought it but haven’t used it much there unless nothing is planted. That thing gets hot and doesn’t need to actually touch a plant to kill it. Be careful. I think the units made specifically for garden might be better since longer handle and smaller flame. Still I wouldn’t get anywhere near anything I wanted to live! I use a stirrup hoe from Johnny seeds now for weeding.

Is it the red dragon original or the weed dragon? Weed might be better with smaller head but both probably work ok. Hope it works good for you. Let us know.

I just looked and even though the product description doesn't say Weed Dragon the product number matches so I guess that is the one I bought.

Is there a Rural King near you? They have 2.5 gallon Glyphosate for $35.00. This will make up to 200 gallons of spray. I think propane will be more expensive.

Picked up the weed Dragon and used it today. Quality=A+, ease of use = A+, effectiveness = A+. I do recommend this brand if you are looking to buy one.

I agree. If you spray when the weeds are small, 2 1/2 gallons should last you several years.

Also it kills the root whereas the torch won't
