I'm not as old as some of you guys, but I'm old enough to remember when Y2K was supposed to be the end of the world. How'd that turn out?
In 34 days i will officially turn 85.
I lost my wife 11 years ago, and that was the last i watched TV.
That dosent mean im ignorant as to whats going on in the world, but it does mean im not subject to most of the BS being thrown at us.
We can only wait and see how all this plays out, and use common sence as to what we do while we wait.
Here in Florida we can if we choose listen to all the dooms day predictions on TV every time a tropical depression starts a thousand miles away.
Im confident this will end up being much of the same.

Stop all of the worrying about the virus. It is blown so far out of proportion that it makes me sick. People still got to work and life goes on. God will not take you until your time. I had a heart scare the end of January where I was shocked twice at the hospital and now have a new jump started installed for my heart. Should probably be dead but not my time. Pray and carry on with your life.
Keep calm, and fish on!
"Alive without breath, as cold as death; never thirsty, ever drinking, all in mail never clinking."
A couple of years ago, I read the book World War Z (about zombie apocalypse -- Brad Pitt was in the movie.) This passage stood out to me:
The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. "Fear," he used to say, "fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe." That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products.... Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells. That was my mantra. "Fear sells."

I am praying and being careful, Although I am concerned, I am not scared. If the weather would improve here in Bartlett, TN area- I would be fishing. I am 72yrs young and looking forward to a lot more fishing. God bless us all.
Quit watching all the idiots on TV. Yes, there is a virus. Yes, it may be worse than the flu we see every year. Yes the media is blowing everything out of proportion. Yes, IMO there is a political agenda at work to crash our economy in an election year. Our lives are purposely being turned upside down so those in power can see just how much we will take before we openly revolt. Go fishing and tell the idiots in the TP aisle at WalMart to get a life. In 6 weeks this will all be behind us and we can get back to our normal lives.

God takes us, when it is our time. No one can stop that. If my time was tomorrow, so be it. Are we scared or concerned, yes, one or the other. But we just need to live our lives, to the fullest, with no regrets.
