    Default Tomatoes finally done

They made it all the way to Nov 1 still had blooms on them when the freeze got them. Beats all I have ever seen
They made it through a summer with no rain. 12 plants in a raised bed by the deckName: 20191031_162309.jpg

There is the wild tangled overgrown mess of them. Took 3 5 gallon buckets of small green ones to feed to the chickens when I pulled them up this morning

They had frozen and split. They are being turned into eggs now. The girls were most appreciative

You can also pick green tomatoes, wrap each one individually in news paper, then put them in BROWN PAPER BAGS, and store them in a cool place. Check on them every few days. When they are almost ripe, put them in a window to finish ripening. We do this every year, and usually for about 2 months, continue eating from the harvest.

About a week ago, maybe 2, the wife brought up the last of the tomatoes from the cellar. We now only have 2 left to use in a salad. Just to give you all an idea of how long they last, after storing them green. Mind you this started in about the second week of October. No use just throwing them away, when you can eat for a while off of them.
