I replaced both capacitors and the contactor in my heat pump last fall. The contacts we’re getting pitted up and I knew the capacitors were getting old. I figured some preventative maintenance was better than changing them out in January.

Very true. This one showed no sign of deterioration

A properly installed heat pump is much more efficient that gas in our area. Now if you live in a barn you will need the capacity of gas. But with a energy efficiency package of windows, insulation and efficient heat pump. You can establish a power bill levelized at less then 200 per month on 3000 sq ft for your structure. This excludes outhouses pools hot tubs.
