Amen.
May God Bless all who charged the beach at Normandy France seventy five years ago today.
It was on that day that some gave all, but to those who remain; May God grant them peace and comfort all the days of their lives.
Amen

Amen.
Watching the early news this morning really got me to thinking about it. It made me sad but very proud of our armed services. I also wonder how many today would sign up for such a war like our young men did back then.

My grandfather was there, Purple Heart. He’s 96 and the heart of our family. Love him dearly. Grandparents have 73 year wedding Anniversary this weekend we are celebrating.
My Grandfather was also there... but (sadly) we lost him to lung cancer many years ago. If you don't mind brother... please shake your Grandfather's hand and give him a big hug from me and let him know that I (we all) appreciate his service and all that he did for our country.
I was at the VA Hospital twice this month for routinely scheduled stuff and made it a point to search for anyone I could that had part in the WWII and especially the invasion of Normandy. It took a bit more than I thought... but I was able to find a few... and it meant much to me to shake their hands and thank them personally for their service.
In my opinion... the heroes of that era... are very likely part of the greatest generation the world has or ever will know.

My Dad went in at Omaha Beach. I always wanted for us to go and follow his route from the beach through France and Germany but, he said he didn't leave anything over there that he needed to go back and get. I am watching The Longest Day on TV now and when we watched it years ago, Dad said that when Red Buttons parachute got hung on the church at Saint Mere Egliese(sp) was true. He helped cut that man down when they pulled in to town.
