    Default Great health checkup

Went for my 6 month wellness visit with my Doctor. Their scales showed a 15# weight loss since my November visit. I started this plan April 2, so about 2#/week loss.
The better news is my cholesterol went from 198 to 175. I am not on any medication, so I was glad to get this down from 200.
We have really enjoyed eating fresh fruits and vegetables, along with most all meats, potatoes and eggs.

    Default Whole30

Jerry, just Google Whole30 and there is a wealth of info on it. I posted it on the SC site as well and there is more detail there including a list of foods allowed on the plan.

This isn't some fad or weird thing where you only eat one food for 30 days, etc. My wife and I have been following it since April 2 and I am down 23#, my blood pressure has dropped into the excellent zone and my cholesterol went from 205 to 175 in 3 months.

Look over that info and holler back at me with any questions.

Ha! I smoked ribs for family home for the 4th. 6 hours on smoker then 3 hours in crockpot. Darn good if I do say.

I started Keto on 4/4. As of yesterday, 8/4, I'm down 50 lbs. I feel 25 years younger.

Wow that's great! I'm right at 30 and close to where I'd like to maintain, still like to shave about 5-10 more pounds. My fishing buddy is doing Keto and he and I are close in weight loss. Keto allows some things that Whole30 doesn't and vice versa. The thing that saved me on Whole30 is allowing potatoes. Can't have grains like grits but hash browns are an acceptable substitute for me. I was in NC visiting my son this weekend and went over to a shop called the "Bass Shack" in Shelby. It was early and I hadn't eaten breakfast and saw a Waffle House. Low and behold they had an eggs and hash brown breakfast and it was great! 1st WH I've
    visited in many years.
On a side note, that shop has more fishing stuff than I've ever seen outside of BPS or Cabelas. They actually carry a lot of BPS items, but are a small Mom and Pop business: Bass Shack - Home | Facebook
