    Default Concerned about my job

23 years with the same company (an airline) but my first “labor un-rest” situation. Our last contract expired in 2012, and April will be 7 years without a new contract or pay raise of any kind. We are now one of the lowest paid federally licensed groups in the nation (2400 of us), and our company does not seem to care. They’re insistence on not negotiating in good faith has saved them 12 years of not paying us the money we are owed as a crucial part of their success.
Their new tactic is replacing their negotiating committee with all new members and agendas, thus, starting from square one, starting all over as of January 2019. They say that in order to pay us what we’re asking, they will have to move the heavy aircraft maintenance checks out of country for cheaper labor costs, (and TREMENDOUSLY lower quality by un-licensed workers) and cut back on other compensations like the work day rules.
Lawsuits now being filed by both sides, company suing our union for “work actions” that are totally unfounded, and the union suing the company today for defamation and false accusations. “Operational Emergencies” declared by the company in several cities making our work force look like the bad guys. Negotiations to begin 12 March for 3 days. These negations will either save our jobs, or become another Eastern airlines, or Northwest airlines I’m afraid.... wish us luck!
