    Good advice, thank you.
As of tonight, he's no longer laboring to breathe, the left nostril issue is back, he's been eating/drinking some. When I got home this morning , they both greeted me at the door.
As long as this continues, we're good.

Glad the health issue turned around, and the baby is getting better. Losing one is extremely hard, we know first hand. They stay in your heart forever. Hope the baby continues to get better.

Thank you. He's pretty much back to normal now. He's on a "prescription" diet for life, since he had pancreatitis.
We feel like dog perverts, have to watch to make sure he urinates, to make sure he's not having problems with the stone(s).
And somehow, his left nostril isn't running like it used too. That just recently stopped. My wife kinda wanted to see what was causing that issue.

I am glad to here he is doing better. Someone who has never, or its been a while since they have had a fur baby just don't realize what our fur babies mean to us. When we lost Tinker about 2 1/2 months ago, to old age, she was 18 y/o, then to lose Rosie just two months later to sugar diabetes induced liver failure, it was devastating for us. I didn't want to do nothing. Momma wanted some new babies right away. I am now glad she did. We found Sugar Baby and Crème Brule at a rescue shelter. Sugar is now 22 weeks and Crème, ( who momma nicknamed Leilei), is about2 1/2 y/o. They are just what we needed.
I hope yours gets and stays well. Eric, AKA "Jamesdean".

    - Our last night , with one of the dogs -

Had a vet appointment tonight. More issues. This time it's diabetes. Two of the docs at the vet feel confident it's all cancer related.
I don't remember the names of the levels that they checked, or the actual numbers. Some are as much as much as 6x what they should be, he's also lost 1.5# in two weeks. For a 16# dog, that's considerable.
We've been back to the vet twice since the pancreatitis issue. For different reasons. It seems we "fix" one thing, and another rises.
    It's time.
My wife and I are in agreement, our youngest child, not so much.

Prayers for peace and comfort to you and your family during what we all know is a very difficult decision and sad time.

Have had dogs in the house all our lives. Current one is on the way out. I can see it every day as it gets harder and harder for him to get up after laying down. We have always had large dogs and that is the way they come to the end of their lives. When they can't get down the stairs we can no longer care for them as neither my wife or me can carry them. The thing is that the large dogs suffering seems to be more of a psychological pain than physical. It must be very freighting to a dog to no longer be able to walk. What I'm trying to get around to saying is that I wouldn't make the decision to end a dog's life based entirely on pain. I had a pointer once who would run all day in sand burs if I would have let her. One time she ripped a toenail completely off and keep hunting like nothing was wrong. It's when the pain turns into fear that it is time to call it a game. I know that I have no particular fear of pain, it's being helpless that is frightening. That is not to say that pain cannot be debilitating but that is just another form of helplessness.

The hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Nothing good to say in this difficult time. God bless and I’ll be thinking of you.

Prayers for peace of mind for you and your family. It is an extremely hard decision to make. Children do not always understand why their furry loved one must be put down. Prayers for the whole family for sure.
