Default '16 and newer Nissan Pathfinder questions

    For those who own one.
Do you tow with it? If so, what and how much does it weigh? Do you feel comfortable with what your towing?
I'm leaning towards one this fall. Test drove one, liked it. Haven't towed with one though.
    Pro's and con's to them?
The '17 and newer are rated at 6000# towing, '16 and older rated at 5000# towing.

I have a 2017 Frontier, the same chassis and engine as the Pathfinder. The key to towing with the pick up is the Value Truck Package, which adds the receiver hitch, the wiring harness, the bigger trailer connector and most importantly a separate transmission cooler . On the Frontier that is what takes it to 6300# towing capabilities. If the vehicle has the factory installed receiver hitch and large trailer connector, it has the VTP. There is no option other than the VTP that gives you the hitch without all the other stuff.

BTW: if you get the VTP, there is a connector under the dash to connect the Electric Trailer Brake Controller. A simple Plug-and-Play for installing the controller.

When I went truck hunting I found out that most sales people know as much about trailer specs as they do space travel. I did all my own research and found most of what I needed on a Frontier forum online.

    Hope that helps.

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
