Default friend with cancer…anybody been there

Its about the size of a soccer ball and according to the dr weighs about 10 lbs. after 1 mri and 2 ct scans they still don't know what type it is. At first they were leaning towards sarcoma, now it could be sarcoma or lymphoma. Looks like they want to do a biopsy to find out what it is…isn't that kinda risky??? Then chemo, doesn't that kill good cells too? Emphasis was on shrinking it because its around some vessels, kidney is gone no matter what.

    any thoughts?

thought about getting 2nd opinion say maybe that one in houston. kansas university med center now.

he is trying to decide what to do…has even thought about using rick simpson oil but can't find it

heck yes get a second opinion. and a third, forth if need be. I don't know about it being risky, one thing for sure, it has to come out.

My sil just had a double mas. , chemo and radiation due to doctor saying he could find nothing in her breast. The second doctor pick it up. Doctor says everything looks good now, tough woman

My sister just had 2.5 feet of her colon removed with a grapefruit sized tumor, second opinion from a doctor pick it up. Chemo and radiation, good to go now

Best of luck for your buddy, be there for him when he needs you.

Definitely get at least a second opinion and make sure it's from a major cancer center. That alone doubles or more the chances of survival.

Been there with Lung Cancer, Chemo, Radiation. Hardest thing I've ever had to do. My Prayers are with you. If you trust the Doctor then go with his Recomendations. I lost most of my Right Lung, in 1989 , I''m now 74 and doing the best I can each day.

If your friend choses to get a second opinion, I have had 2 friends that were treated at the one in Houston. Both sing high praises about them. Both have been cancer free after getting treated there. One over 7 yrs.

My wife had a double mas around 17-18 yrs ago at stage IV inflamatory breast. for 10 years she tried everything available for tratment. Get as many opinions you think. Always butted heads with doctor. My current wife had colon cancer 22 years ago and been free since. Your friend will be in my prayers, stay strong.
