Clifford. My daughter and husband have lived in Nashville for the last couple of years. The cost of everything is high. Home prices are very high. Traffic is rough. A thirty minute drive on a Sunday morning will be an hour and a half drive during work traffic. They are moving back closer to home this weekend and we are glad. Hope this helps in some way. I’m going to spend the later part of the week helping them pack. If you pm me your number I’ll see if I can get her to call you while I’m there to answer some basic questions.

South of Nashville, with 30 minute drive would be the Franklin area. It has some beautiful country and homes, but wil be very pricey. If south is your preference, to get the cost down you'll need to add some time to that drive and maybe look at Maury county area. Within 30 minutes of Nashville, north, east and west sides of town might be a little lower cost. Traffic is going to be a pain regardless of direction. About 20 years ago, I lived on the west side, out in the Kingston Springs area and the commute wasn't bad at all. It is beautiful country and convenient to anything you might want to do.
Nashville area has experienced so much growth in the last 10 years that it has become quite pricey. I live about 60 miles south of Nashville and it has even affected real estate prices here.
Good luck with the move and making the right decision!

If you can go west of Nashville, like maybe closer to Dickson or Clarksville, then you may find more reasonable real estate. You just have to determine which factors you value more: time driving or cost of living

Thanks... Now, it is looking a lot more like we will end up in the Huntsville area... Be glad when we really know!
Look for the old Carolina Skiff
