I am not familiar with the Hook seven. If it has a SD slot, then U can/should be able to run maps from the SD. May be slow loading and updating map positions (lag) based on the processor speed. You can buy maps, Insight and hot spot maps, etc. Depends on what lake U looking for. Small lakes will probably not be shown or be a blue spot on the map.

Here's what the Lowrance Hook 7 page says about "maps" (on micro SD cards) :

    • A micro SD card can also be used to display Lake Insight™ and Nautic Insight™ HD and PRO cartography, as well as Navionics® Gold, HotMaps® Premium, Fishing Hotspots® PRO and Jeppesen C-Map Max-N Wide charts.
    • Create your own map from real sonar data that you record with the online Insight Genesis™ map creation service.

You would have to look on the webpage of whichever one of these SD cards you chose to find out what lakes were included and what the depth contours were.

I'm fishing Gibson County Lake and Crockett County Lake some people call Humboldt Lake. I appreciate your feedback

I fished the Crockett County Lake many years ago when it was Humboldt Lake. Not many crappie, but did get nice bass on occasion. Never fished Gibson County Lake as it has been a flop from the gitgo.

You need to put the new (5 years since fill) Carroll County Lake on the "things to fish" list. Haven't fish it myself, but I plan to do so this year. I have had my boat there just cruising around though. I know where the bream hang out.

I also rode my four wheeler around the lake bottom before they started the filling process. I have some interesting waypoints.
