Default Deer Hunting with my Daughter in LA

I know its a long shot but I gotta try...

My daughter (she is 17) decided several years ago that she wanted to see how many states she could shoot a deer in so I set a goal to help her out. We have covered 9 states so far and are now looking at LA. I'm trying to see if someone could point us in the direction of decent public land in the state (not looking for your special spot or honeyhole). She does not have to have a trophy buck and will settle with a doe if needed. We have pretty good hunting knowledge so scouting is no problem. I would just like to at least start in an area that actually has a deer population.

If anyone has any information they would want to provide, please shoot me a PM, text or give me a call (256-616-9934). Thanks.

That’s awesome. Really hope you and her can make that happen. That would be very cool.

Not going to be an easy task. Louisiana folks are pretty tight lipped...

Yes sir. Will be 18 in February. Time does fly! She still brings up that trip occasionally.

What, because she outfished us all! That was a great trip, she did everything just like a pro guide, I could not believe it. And Charlie Brewer Jr. was funny too, secretly kicking the rod holder to make it look like a bite. I remember that trip well. If she gets a deer this year, please post a pic, love to see her again.

    Default Louisiana Deer Hunt

You might want to look at Dewey Wills WMA. It's located in east central Louisiana. Depending on the water it can be swampy, lots of woods and almost 64,000 acres to hunt.
