Default A Country Girl Can Survive

We have been waiting for the first cold front to come in so we could head south to get some fresh shrimp. Well heading towards SE La. was out sense the last hurricane deviate’d it so we tried SW La. but it still doesn’t look much better after 2 hurricanes last year. My heart goes out to you folks down there, the destruction is unbelievable. So we switched to plan B and go catch some crabs, first stop 2 medium size crabs, second stop no keepers and no moving tide. Loaded everything up in the truck and headed for the Mermatau??? river and it was game on. The first picture of Charline is with the first raise of 5 lines, a lot of small ones but some lines had up to 5 crabs on one chicken leg. We ended up bringing home 59 big ones and left them biting. Great job Chip / Charlene! I went yesterday to the weirs in Big Lake and caught 31 of those to go with the 5 gallons of shrimp I caught. You are definitely right about everything down here still looking bad a year after 2 hurricanes hit us! Good thing we "Dodged a bullet" as our idiot governor said! People that haven't come down here have no idea how bad it was/is, a lot of people are still battling insurance and there are MULTIPLE houses with blue tarped roofs a year later! I just hope our brothers/sisters to the east don't have as hard a time as of a lot of our area did.
